AC Milan are being encouraged in their interest for Manchester United attacker Memphis Depay.

The Dutchman has battled for minutes at United this season, though was thrown on late into their draw with Stoke City yesterday.

Sportmediaset says Milan's imminent new owners will make money available for the January market and have plans to make a big name signing to celebrate their takeover.

And at Milan, they're convinced Memphis will jump at the chance to leave United midseason.

Much, however, will depend if the Chinese group seeking to buy the club can wrap up the deal in time.
