AC Milan defender Thiago Silva admits he was impressed by Manchester United star Wayne Rooney this week.

Rooney struck twice in the 3-2 win at the San Siro.

Thiago said: "We faced an attacker who is fast and efficient and one of the best players in the world at the moment.

"Rooney is playing great football. Any carelessness from us was fatal. The speed and his intelligence are two weapons that he used."
