New contract talks are on hold at AC Milan for midfielder Massimo Ambrosini.

The midfielder, who will be 35 in May, signed a one-year deal at the end of the last campaign and the same scenario may happen this time around.

"There is nothing to report on the contract front," agent Moreno Roggi told Milan News. "There won't be any time soon either.

"If the player does renew his contract at the club then that will only happen at the end of this present campaign.

"We are only in February now and it is too soon to discuss this situation.

"There is a certain bond between Ambrosini and Milan, but everything will be examined calmly at the end of the season."
