AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is happy for Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez after France's victory yesterday.
France defeat Poland in their World Cup round of 16 clash, with Giroud's goal making him the country's record scorer.
Pioli said, "Giroud is in an optimal psychophysical moment, he faced this World Cup in great shape. I'm happy for him and for Theo Hernandez.
"A couple of video calls were enough for me to understand the man before he arrived, then he's a great player.
"He works for the team, he scores goals."
He continued: "I was convinced that the club had taken on a great player. Motivated, serene. He brings together all the characteristics of a leader. Better to come back from Qatar earlier or win? It's always better to train happy and motivated players.
"(Simon) Kjaer came back disappointed, for example."
