AC Milan chief Leonardo has confirmed Nikola Kalinic is on his way to Atletico Madrid.

The Croatia striker is in Madrid today for a medical and to sign terms.

Leonardo, at the presentation to welcome Paolo Maldini back to Milan, declared: "Kalinic to Atlético? It's almost done, the agreement is very close."

Kalinic leaves Milan after the Rossonero's swoop for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.

His move to Atletico will see Kevin Gameiro leave for Valencia in a €16m deal.
