AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits talks are continuing over a new deal with Ronaldinho.
Galliani would like Ronaldinho to stay at Milan, but is also asking him to take a 25 per cent pay cut in line with his efforts to slash the club's wage bill.
"I have seen Roberto De Assis [Ronaldinho's brother and agent]. We didn't speak about his brother's contract, but other players," Galliani said.
"Ronaldinho has a contract until June 2011 and we will speak about an extension from January onwards.
"We don't intend to spread his existing deal out over more years."
