AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti believes that the arrival of David Beckham will offer versatility in the positions he can play.

Beckham is in Dubai with the AC Milan squad and is in line to play his first match with the rossoneri next week when the Serie A resumes.

"In my opinion he is an important player who can give something to the club," said Ancelotti.

"He is a versatile footballer who can play in three different positions and has already shown his availability to the team.

"This week will be useful for us to evaluate his condition and then we will see when he will be ready to play in official encounters."
