Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich intends to hand manager Carlo Ancelotti an improved contract.
The Sunday Mirror says Abramovich has no intention of parting company with Ancelotti.
In fact he intends to renegotiate a new contract with the Italian who will only have a year left on his present deal come the summer.
Ancelotti is being courted by one of his former clubs Roma, who are being taken over by an American consortium.
And in the past Ancelotti has expressed his belief that one day he will return to Roma as their boss.
But Abramovich intends to carry on rebuilding Chelsea's first team squad with Ancelotti providing the coaching expertise.
