Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is making a personal intervention to prevent Eden Hazard leaving for Real Madrid.

Don Balon says Abramovich is desperate to avoid losing the Belgium international.

The Blues have been in talks with Hazard over a contract extension but he is stalling on putting pen to paper.

And it is claimed Abramovich has now slapped a £15million-per-season deal on the table.

Hazard is reportedly eager for a new challenge as he bids to challenge Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the Ballon d'Or.

The 27-year-old is currently under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2020.
