Aberdeen taking meat products off the menu for fear of horse contamination

Aberdeen have stalled the sale of all meat products at Pittodrie Stadium amidst the horsemeat scandal.

Some varieties of frozen food around the UK has been contaminated with horsemeat recently so the Dons' catering company, French firm Soedxo, have decided to pull the pin on menu items they cannot properly test.

"Aberdeen Football Club will not be offering any meat products within Pittodrie Stadium during this evening's SPL match against Ross County," read a club statement prior to last night's loss to the Staggies.

"Sodexo, AFC's catering partner, took the decision to withdraw all frozen and processed beef products for which they do not have evidence of DNA testing.

"Only when they have this assurance will they allow new products into their business as an assurance of their and the Club's commitment to food safety, traceability and quality."
