A Man City reject, a Brazilian goalscorer & a Roma thoroughbred; 7 Serie B talents Italy's biggest clubs are targeting

From a Manchester City reject to a Brazilian goalscoring powerhouse, Tribalfootball.com's Italian football expert Matteo Vitale runs his eye over Serie B and highlights seven young players Serie A clubs are chasing this January market...

There are several talented players in Serie B who could prove useful for some Serie A teams: in fact in this January market a few of these are already on the list of some major clubs.

Parma is definitely the team that has showcased the most talented players so far, with Adri Bernabè undoubtedly being the cover man of the season up to now. He is Parma's star: born in Barcelona in 2001, the young talent has shown everyone his technical and offensive qualities, so much so that he has totaled a rich haul of 5 goals and 4 assists in 19 games, plus a goal and an assist in the Coppa Italia.

Coming from Manchester City and raised in Barcelona's academy, there was really no doubt about his future even when he was just a few months older than a child. Several Serie A teams had already made moves for him in the summer, such as Salernitana, Sassuolo and Genoa. Parma do not want to sell him, as they know that he can evolve into a top talent, but faced with a rich offer they might waver. Certainly Bernabé is a pure talent and at the moment in Serie B he definitely seems to be on another level compared to others.

He was a pure trequartista, now he is starting to play in the middle of the field as well, a few meters further back. Adrian is ready for Serie A, that's for sure.

There is another talent who is growing very fast this year, drawing the attention of many Serie A clubs. He plays for Parma too and his name is Adrian Benedyczak, he is a Polish striker born in 2000.

He joined his current club in 2021. Since then his growth has been continuous and more evident month after month and this year he has already scored 8 goals and 1 assist in 20 games. Important stats, stats of a young player ready to have a breakthrough. We will see which club will set its eyes on him first and whether they will do so as early as January.

The next on the list is not an unknown name; in fact, he has already played in Serie A and it was there that he showed his talent: Gianluca Busio, a 2002 Greensboro-born Venice star, is now ready to become a starter in a bigger Serie A team. He had already let people glimpse into his talent when he was almost an unknown kid, or at least a name known only to the football pundits, but since then he has continued to show signs of growth and now plays with a confidence and authority that sees him dominate Serie B. He would also be an investment for the future....

There are two Spezia players who might soon leave Serie B and move to Serie A, and reading about these two names will surprise absolutely no one, as both of them have already played (and also with good results) in Italy's top league.

We are talking about Daniele Verde and Kelvin Amian. The former grew up in AS Roma's academy, with that jersey he made himself known to Italian scouts, the latter grew up with the jersey of Toulouse. Now these two players are among Spezia's major stars and the spotlight of several Serie A teams have turned onto them.

Cagliari is moving for Verde, looking for a reinforcement for the offensive line: without any doubt for the former Roma player it would be difficult to resist the advances of a major Serie A club like Cagliari, also and especially given the difficult situation that Spezia, penultimate in the Serie B standings, is experiencing.

Amian, on the other hand, really likes Bologna, where he would coincidentally find Thiago Motta again, with whom he has shown great things in Serie A. The Ligurian team has by now realized that it will be difficult to keep Amian, and Bologna will try until the end to get Thiago Motta his former player.

The last two talents on this list also play on the same team. We are talking about two Palermo players: one is the captain, Matteo Luigi Brunori, and the other is a young talent, 21-year-old American Kristoffer Lund.

The former, as mentioned, is the captain, but he is also the soul of the team, both on and off the field. An unstoppable goalscorer, Brunori seems to be decidedly out of place in Serie B, so easy does it appear for him to send the ball into the net. The striker born in Macae, Brazil, has been scoring at an incredible rate since wearing the Palermo jersey: there are already 7 goals this year, 56 in 105 games with the Sicilian club's jersey, practically one goal every two games.

Genoa is interested in him, looking for a strong and experienced centre forward, but Palermo does not want to let him leave.

The other Rosanero player who could move to Serie A is the left back who came from Häcken: Lund is physically strong, has good technique and is courageous in attacking the opponent's half of the field. Palermo bought him in the summer, almost taking him out of the hands of Salernitana, and who knows whether other Serie A clubs might also think of him to reinforce the team in January. He has already shown enough talent and class.
