Despite having goalscorer Reinaldo sent off ten minutes after half-time, the Roar scored three times with ten men to go four points clear of the Reds at the top of the table and are now in an irresistible position in regards to taking this season’s title.

In other matches, Central Coast Mariners ground out a 1-0 away win over North Queensland Fury thanks to a first-half Patrick Zwaanswijk header.<
Gold Coast United go a lucky 1-0 win over Melbourne Victory because of a Roddy Vargas own-goal, Bruno Cazarine’s controversial second-half goal against Newcastle Jets proved to be the difference in Sydney and Tim Brown drilled home a cracking left-foot volley in the 1st minute to give Wellington Phoenix a 1-0 victory over Perth Glory away from home.
