Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has rejected a move to Australia.
The Portugal superstar is plotting the next move for his club career, while he also focuses on the World Cup with his national side.
Ronaldo and Portugal are through to the last eight of the competition, where they will take on Morocco.
A-League chief Danny Townsend admits the league attempted to secure Ronaldo, but were given a curt response.
“We had interesting discussions, and there was genuine interest, but it's clear he has other priorities at this stage," he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
Ronaldo was also linked to two teams in Saudi Arabia, but his team reported to the media that such rumors were false.
