8-year-old Man City fan Megan cheers up Mancini with bag of sweets!

Eight-year-old Manchester City fan Megan Kinghorn has cheered up manager Roberto Mancini by sending him a packet of sweets!

Megan noticed the Blues boss munching Fruit Pastilles on the touchline with assistant Brian Kidd and sent him a four-pack as a gift. She got back a signed photo and a letter of thanks - revealing the Italian and Kidd had already scoffed them.

Megan, from Oldham, said: "I sent them because I am a big City fan and I love Roberto and I wanted to send him something to cheer him up because he has a really tough job."

Her mum Kirsty, 39, told the Manchester Evening News: "We had a running joke in the house that whenever City were on the telly Mancini and his assistant Brian Kidd always seemed to be eating sweets.

"During one match we spotted what looked like a packet of Fruit Pastilles. Megan said she was going to buy some with her pocket money and sent them to him.

"We went to Asda, got a four-pack and she wrote a letter and sent it to him. She thinks he's wonderful."
