Sheffield United chief exec Stephen Bettis insists they do not need a director of football.
However, Betts says they will seek to strengthen their football staff.
"For us there's no plans to have a Director of Football or a Sporting Director," Bettis told The Star.
"It's just to bring in another Head of Recruitment and strengthen the data analysis below it as well; there will be extra headcount put into the department going forward. But there's no plans for [Director of Football].
"You also have to look at, when you look at our manager, who we brought in for the reasons we did this season, he's heavily involved in recruitment, and always has been. To put another layer of complexity or another person in terms of a Director of Football as well, I'm not sure it works. It works in some places and it doesn't in others.
