Sir Alex Ferguson blew a fuse with Manchester United technical director John Murtough after Jude Bellingham's famous 2020 visit to Carrington.
While still with Birmingham City, the Real Madrid star visited United before choosing to join Borussia Dortmund.
Then United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer planned a charm offensive for Bellingham and his family, which included club icon Ferguson.
But the Athletic says after initially greeting the player and his parents, Ferguson was denied the chance to speak to them. Instead, Murtough whisked them away for a tour of Carrington.
The decision left Ferguson feeling offended and he let Murtough know after the Bellingham family's departure. For his part, Murtough has maintained it was a matter of wires crossed.
