He has become one of a few players to survive several managerial changes at the club, despite increasingly having to make do with appearances from the bench.
He said: "I came from a small club in Spain to Raith Rovers and then to Dundee and now Rangers. It is quite difficult to get used to it when you have been playing every week and then here sometimes you are not even on the bench.
"In my first year I came and was playing all the time and then in the second year I had the operation [groin surgery] and it was hard to come back to the team.
"I understand the manager's situation more and it is not an easy job.
"I think more about it now because I've been doing my coaching badges as well.
"I like the fact it is a bigger squad and at least every single player knows that you need to work properly every single day because there is a lot of competition there."
