Newell's Old Boys president Ignacio Astore has again opened the door to signing Lionel Messi.
The Barcelona legend is currently in his first season in France playing for PSG, but continues to be linked with a move away from Europe.
"It will be a double pleasure for me, as president of Newell's, if I can pick a player with those qualities," Astore told TyC Sports.
"The only thing I can say is that it depends on him. We can show our interest, but it depends on what he thinks and how he sees the city and the country, and how his family feels and how his situation is.
"The door is open for him if he wants to go to Newell's."
