James Brown will leave Gold Coast United for Newcastle Jets at the end of the current A-League season.
The 21-year old attacking midfielder comes out of contract with Gold Coast at the completion of the campaign and the Jets have moved quickly to secure him with CEO Robbie Middleby confirming the signing.
"We are delighted he is coming to Newcastle and we can't wait to see him in Jets colours next season."
Brown added: "I wish to thank Gold Coast for all they have done for me.
"We still have the season ahead to focus on which is what I will do, and once it is over I will look forward to moving to Newcastle and joining the Jets.""James is a great young talent and we know he was highly sought after," Middleby said.
