Ex-Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge wants everyone to show patience as he attempts to find form with Perth Glory in Australia.
Sturridge controversially took himself out of contention for a recent A-League game, with the club's owner revealing that Sturridge was experiencing cramp after a four-hour-long flight to the game.
Many on social media were criticising Sturridge for having little faith in his body, but the former England striker hit back.
"Two weeks in quarantine was insane! I played last week to help the team and meet the fans which was great," he said in a tweet.
"It's a long season so please be patient as we build my fitness up which was always the plan.
"A four hour flight would never stop me playing football. See you all soon."
