Andre Villas-Boas reportedly wants to bring Mikel John Obi to China.
The Daily Mirror suggests that the Portuguese tactician is keen on luring veteran midfielder Mikel to Shanghai SIPG.
Villas-Boas replaced Sven-Goran Eriksson at the Chinese Super League club recently and is immediately looking to sign top quality players for a title assault.
29-year-old Mikel is likely to leave Stamford Bridge in January having not yet featured under Antonio Conte this season and is being heavily linked with French club Olympique Marseille.
But Shanghai boss Villas-Boas is eager to reunite with the Nigerian great who played 21 times for the former Tottenham Hotspur boss in West London.
Mikel is out of contract with the Blues at the end of the season.
