In their Segunda Division B opener on the weekend against Atletico Madrid B, Zidane's Castilla lost 2-1.
Raul Tomas had fired Real ahead, but they collapsed after halftime as goals from Dani Aquino and Samu Sainz saw the visitors win 2-1 on the opening day of the new season.
The result marked Zizou's first official game in charge, having taken on the Castilla at the start of preseason training.
