Pablo Zabaleta can understand Manchester City star Bernardo Silva wanting to join Barcelona.

The former City and Espanyol fullback believes Bernardo's wish could be key in Barca's push to sign the Portugal international.

He said, "Leaving is always possible, more so if you want to come to the LaLiga for a personal matter and formulas can be found, but it will not be easy or cheap in the case of City.

"Silva is not a cheap player. I don't know the situation of Barça and if financially it will be in a position to face a signing of this height, although for my part and my past I wish he could stay at City."

Zabaleta was speaking ahead of the second edition of the Sioux Legends Trophy padel tournament at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona.
