Former Barcelona captain Xavi is sorry to have seen Neymar leave last summer.

The Brazil international's €222m move to PSG was a blow for Barca, claims Xavi.

He told La Vanguardia: "He influenced the game.

"With him, there was no need for 30 passes to get to the goal, because he passed both lines so fast that the opposing team was overwhelmed.

"It made sense to take advantage of his style of play."
