Wijnaldum: Liverpool players feel really bad over season results

Georginio Wijnaldum admits even Liverpool players have been shocked and angered by their own recent performances on Merseyside.

The Reds slipped to eighth on the Premier League table after a 1-0 loss to Fulham at Anfield last weekend, which was their sixth straight loss at home.

Jurgen Klopp's side will play their home leg in the Champions League last-16 tie with RB Leipzig in Budapest on Wednesday, having won 2-0 in the first leg.

Asked about Liverpool's Anfield failings before the clash, Wijnaldum said: "I don't think it was shocking to lose a game but more the way we lost the games.

"We feel really bad. The way we deal with situations during games was really bad. We should be doing better.

"When we analysed the games, it makes us even more angry because we can see that we can be doing so much better than we are doing right now.

"Of course, we have had difficult situations with injuries and those things but the situations we have faced in the games where we have conceded goals have had nothing to do with injuries.

"That is what we are basically most disappointed in. We could have dealt better with situations in games."
