Wigan Athletic forward Mauro Boselli has returned to Argentine club Estudiantes on a one-year loan deal.
The 26-year old failed in his debut Premier League campaign with the Latics and was subsequently loaned out to Italian club Genoa during the course of the season.
Now he will head back to his former club in a bid to get his career back on track with Wigan boss Roberto Martinez saying he will be reviewed next summer.
"Mauro needs to regain his confidence and after what will hopefully be a successful season with his former club, we will assess the situation this time around," he told the club's official website.
"We will be keeping close tabs on his progress and wish him every success for the new season."
