Wigan eyeing Reading striker Kitson

Reading striker Dave Kitson is a reported target for Steve Bruce as the Wigan chief looks to strengthen his forward line.

Bruce is concerned by the fact that Latics scored just 34 goals in 38 Premier League goals last season.

Marcus Bent and Julius Aghahowa have already been offloaded as Bruce makes room for new recruits at The JJB.

Egypt star Amr Zaki is close to a move to Wigan, but Bruce is still looking to add to his strikers and Kitson is high on his wish list.

The 28-year-old still has two years to run on his deal with the relegated Royals, but he is keen to continue his career in the top flight.

The former Arlesey Town and Cambridge United star has made 135 league appearances for Reading and scored 54 goals.
