West Brom to move for Liverpool striker Lambert once Benteke deal is finalised

West Bromwich Albion will make a move for Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert in the upcoming week, following the completion of the transfer of Christian Benteke to the Reds, reports The Mirror.

England international Lambert made just 12 starts for the Reds following last summer's move to his boyhood club from Southampton and is expected to leave Anfield this summer.

With the arrivals of Danny Ings and Divock Origi and impending signing of Benteke from Aston Villa, Lambert is considered surplus to the requirements under Brendan Rodgers but has emerged as a target for the Baggies who are ready to pounce on the opportunity bring the 33-year-old to The Hawthorns.
