Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane has made it clear Timo Werner would be welcome by the players should he move to Anfield.

The RB Leipzig striker has spoken openly about his wish to join Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool in the future.

And speaking back in 2019, Mane told Bild: "I'd advise him to join Liverpool. I like his way of playing: very powerful, good finish, always giving 100%.

"If he wants to join us, we like to welcome him into our team.

“When it was clear that Naby (Keita) would join us, I often watched Leipzig matches and Timo stood out."

Werner is expected to leave RB Leipzig on the back of an exceptional Bundesliga campaign where he has netted 21 goals in 25 league appearances.
