Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he still feels Andrey Arshavin has a lot to offer the club despite being well below his best for a while now.
The Gunners bought the Russian from Zenit St Petersburg for £15million in January 2009 and he burst onto the Premier League scene with some brilliant performances early.
His form has slowly dipped ever since and has been widely criticised in the press but Wenger indicated that he certainly doesn't regret the purchase.
"You would not be surprised that I disagree with that," he told the club's official website.
"That is opinion. I think he has been great for us and he will still be great in the coming months.
"He is a great player and you have to give him credit for that. He stands up for his performances. I personally respect him highly and I think he's a great player.
"He works through it (poor form) by keeping his focus in training and what he does well. I like Andrey because he has a great attitude."
