Imminent Manchester United signing Angel di Maria is expected to see Danny Welbeck move on. The Daily Star says the Real Madrid star is set to be used as an attacking player through the middle which will further increase the chances of Welbeck leaving Old Trafford before the transfer window closes next Monday.
The England star has already been told by Van Gaal that he can leave the club as first-team opportunities will be limited.
He is expected to reluctantly go while Juan Mata may also suffer because of Di Maria's arrival.
United boss Louis van Gaal used Arjen Robben behind Robin van Persie at this summer's World Cup and he may have a similar role in mind for the club's record buy.
Di Maria is also expected to be handed the famous number seven shirt at Old Trafford previously worn by the likes of Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
