Chelsea technical director Petr Cech was filmed pleading with supporters out the front of Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Thousands had gathered in front of the stadium in protest of Chelsea's involvement in the proposed European Super League.
In extraordinary scenes in west London, Cech was pleading with supporters to allow the bus team to enter the complex ahead of their clash with Brighton.
"Let people sort this out, but this is not the thing," Cech told the protesters.
"Let the people in. Let the bus go in. Give people time."
The kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes due to the demonstrations, with the match ending in a dour 0-0 draw.
By the end of Tuesday night, Chelsea and the other five English clubs involved - Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham - had formally withdrawn from the competition.
