Budimir admits he was inspired to take up the game by the great Croatian team of the 1998 World Cup, with Davor Suker a hero.
Suker, now Croatia's FA president, also played in Spain for Real Madrid, and Budimir admits he looked up to the former centre-forward. The experienced striker also name-drops Mario Mandzukic, now of AC Milan and is a teammate of Budimier's in the Croatian national team.
