Wales coach Chris Coleman hopes to call on Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen for next week's World Cup qualifiers.

Allen, 22, needs surgery on his shoulder - a procedure which will keep him sidelined for three months.

But Wales boss Coleman said: "We always try to work with clubs because they aren't our players, we are only borrowing them.

"But we've not been told anything so, at the minute, he's very much in the squad."
