Arsenal are said to be interested in signing VitoriaGuimaraes midfielder Ibrahima Bamba.

The 20-year-old is looking to move away from Vitoria in the winter, as he wants to make a big step up in his career.

Bamba is a defensive midfielder and is seen as an alternative to and eventual replacement for 30-year-old Thomas Partey.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo states that Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are the two clubs closest to securing Bamba.

Arsenal were also linked with Brazilian Danilo, but they appeared to have cooled interest in the Palmeiras star.

The Gunners were also linked to Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa in the summer.
