Villarreal defender Pau Torres and Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea have spoken about the Europa League final whilst on Spain duty.

De Gea missed the only spot-kick of the penalty shootout to hand Villarreal their first ever major trophy.

But Torres has told his Spain teammate not to worry about it as he believes they will both lift the European Championship this summer.

"He has a strong mind, I spoke with him after the game and this won't affect him," Torres said on De Gea on Wednesday.

"It will stay in the past, I tried to encourage him as best as I could and told him not to worry about it because this summer he is going to lift a different trophy."
