Villarreal great Marcos Senna has again spoken of coming close to joining Manchester United.

The former Spain midfielder recalls he was made the offer by Sir Alex Ferguson's United after the 2008 Euros.

Senna told AS: "After the European Championship we won there was a certain approach, that summer there were options, but they did not come to fruition.

"We finished the Eurocopa and there was some interest, but I was 31 years old.

"That complicated everything and it was not done."
