Villarreal coach Quique Setien admits their Europa Conference League elimination is tough to take.

Setien expressed his regret at the defeat to RSC Anderlecht at the Estadio de la Cerámica

He appeared before the media to analyse the UEFA Conference League elimination against Anderlecht (0-1): “It's a painful elimination. We were not outplayed. We generated enough, we played in the opposition's half and the game wasn't for us.

"All the chances we created didn't lead to a goal. There are not many explanations."

Despite the defeat, Setién affirms that the Submarine were superior overall in the tie, but were unsuccessful in front of goal: “They had their moments and they took advantage of them.

"We were better in almost everything in the overall tie, except for the most important thing, which is scoring."
