Villarreal B have reached the Segunda Division after their playoff win against Gimnasia.

Villarreal B won the promotion final 2-0 thanks to a brace from Nicolas Jackson. Juan Oriol saw red for Nastic in injury time.

Miguel Alvarez's Villarreal B had beaten Logrones in their semifinal last week.

It ends a 10 year absence from the Spanish second division for Villarreal's reserve team.

Along with Jackson, Adrián de la Fuente also impressed on the day, with the former Real Madrid midfielder controlling the tempo of the game.
