Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill wants Tottenham pair Jermaine Jenas and David Bentley, but won't consider sending Ashley Young in the opposite direction.
The Guardian says Villa could do nothing to prevent Gareth Barry from joining Manchester City for £12m and a six-figure weekly salary but O'Neill believes that Jenas would amply fill the void created.
O'Neill has built a vibrant team, heavy on young English talent, and Jenas would have no trouble fitting in.
Of Spurs demand a player in exchange, O'Neill could offer John Carew.
