Aston Villa face stiff competition for Newell's Old Boys striker Joaquin Boghossian.
The Daily Mail says most of England's top clubs have watched him and Liverpool have discussed tying him up to a deal that would bring him to England later in the year.
That would involve signing him for around £1m then loaning to Espanyol to iron out any work permit issues.
Villa are on the look out for strikers and Boghossian has the attributes except he is not Premier League, or at least European, proven which manager Martin O'Neill prefers.
