Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is eyeing Norwich City defender Russell Martin.

The Mirror says the talented 27-year-old was key component of the Canaries side Lambert steered from League One into the Premier League with successive promotions.

Martin was also in the Lambert-managed Wycombe side that lost to Chelsea in the 2007 League Cup semi-final.

Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion are also admirers of the centre-back, who can also play right-back.
