Vancouver Whitecaps were in awe of star-studded LA Galaxy - Rennie

Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie felt his side were slightly in awe of opponents LA Galaxy on the weekend.

The Canadian outfit lost 3-0 to the Galaxy at The Home Depot Center with Mike Magee, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan on the scoresheet and Rennie suggested that his players may have anxious about taking on such a star-studded line-up which also included David Beckham.

"I think in some ways it felt like we were a little bit, almost starstruck at times, and that was a bit frustrating," Rennie told Vancouver radio station TEAM 1410.

"I think we need to make sure the next time we play them or the next time we're on the field we get back to doing what we do and impose ourselves on the opposition."

Whitecaps goalkeeper Joe Cannon echoed his coach's sentiments by suggesting some of his teammates may have been autograph hunting.

"[In the first half] I can't remember a hard tackle or someone taking the initiative to maybe change the complexion of the game," Cannon added.

"It's a loss. Hopefully some guys got some autographs tonight, because that might be the only thing you got out of it."
