Van Dijk proud celebrating landmark Liverpool game with victory at Brentford

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk was delighted marking his 250th game for the club with victory at Brentford.

The Reds were comfortable 4-1 winners in London.

Van Dijk later said: "Very pleased, I had no clue but it's a proud moment onto many more. Today was a tough game for many reasons even before the injuries, we didn't win here the last two, I got injured here as well. They make it difficult with the way they don't give up, the directness, we had to be ready to fight.

"I play with great players. I'm proud to be a Liverpool player, captain and part of the history.

"I enjoy each and every day, coming out the tunnel at Anfield or leading them out here, when I was a little boy I dreamed of playing in the Premier League. Onto many more."
