Valencia wing-back Thierry Correira was delighted after their 1-0 win against Real Sociedad.

The three points came via an own goal from Igor Zubeldia.

Correira said, "We had gone many games without winning and doing it today at home is very important, because it will give us confidence going forward.

"We know that all of the games coming up are going to be difficult and we have to keep picking up points

"In the game against Athletic Club we had chances, but we were unlucky. Today we were lucky in the match. We were also able to hold on, and that is important for us.

"In other games, teams have scored against us in the final minutes. Today we were very solid at the back, stuck together and got the three points.

"It's always very important that the fans spur us on and support us a lot at home. This morning when we arrived here, we saw some banners saying that the fans were behind us. We have to continue giving everything for them."
