Valencia midfielder Guillamon admits frustration over Barcelona penalty denial

Valencia midfielder Hugo Guillamon admits they left Barcelona full of frustration after defeat on Sunday.

Barca won via an early Raphinha goal despite seeing Ronald Araujo sent off.

Valencia had a good shout for a penalty denied for Fran Perez and Guillamon later said: "It's a shame about that move. It was dubious. In person, it seemed to me that the referee was going to give a penalty. They told me there was contact. I don't understand how it wasn't given if the referee himself told us that there was contact. That's what VAR is there for and you don't have to think about it anymore.

"The objective was to be in the game for 90 minutes. It was a shame that we conceded so early, but the team stood up to be counted. We have to compete every weekend and it's a pity that we leave here empty handed.

"The way to go is the path of hard work. We've been through a bad run that has hindered us, but the team are eager to turn it around."
