Valencia coach Baraja accepts January signings unlikely

Valencia coach Ruben Baraja knows he's unlikely to buy in January.

Baraja has been told Valencia must sell if they're to buy next month.

He said: "What has been conveyed to me is that for economic reasons there may not be the possibility of any player coming. From there, that's it. There's not much more. I can't say what will happen because then the market can lead to movements.

"They haven't told me anything, I don't know if anyone is going to leave or not, or if someone gets an offer and doesn't have minutes, they come to talk to me... What I have to accept now is that due to economic reasons no one can come.

"In the end we have to make a slightly more global assessment of this situation, of what the season may be like. It is not possible to assess now the risk of being down or up. This is a process of seeing how the season evolves and from there we will see. Nobody is a fortune teller to know what will happen at the end of the season.

"We can only concentrate on what we are doing, which is getting the most out of the staff we have and getting the most out of it, accelerating the processes for the team's performance. I try to spend energy on making the team competitive and getting the most out of each player."
