Jurgen Klinsmann has made it clear that he and the USA national team coaching staff will fully respect whatever decision Landon Donovan makes in regards to his playing career.
The 30-year old attacking midfielder has hinted that he could call time on his playing days by making a decision in the wake of the December 1 MLS Cup final between LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo.
Despite the fact he has so much more to offer in terms of years, Klinsmann said that any choice made by Donovan would not be criticized by he or anybody at US Soccer.
"I find it very courageous of him to talk openly about what is going through his mind," Klinsmann said.
"I can understand all those thoughts. He's carrying this topic with him since quite awhile.
"Whatever he decides to do will be very respected by us."
