Union Berlin defender Bonucci slams Juventus: My greatest humiliation

Union Berlin defender Leonardo Bonucci has explained taking legal action against former club Juventus.

Bonucci is suing Juve for the way he was treated over the summer.

He told La Gazzette dello Sport: "I have read and heard false things from both Juventus and the coach. For example, it is false that in October and February I was informed of the intention to end the relationship at the end of the season. In fact, at the end of May I had given my availability to be the fifth / sixth option in defence."

He also said: "I found out something reading the newspapers until, on July 13, Giuntoli and Manna came to my house and told me that I would no longer be part of the Juventus squad. They told me that my presence on the field would hinder the growth of the team ... This was the greatest humiliation after 500 games with the Bianconera shirt.

"I appreciated the solidarity of many players, including current ones, Juventus and other clubs. All expressed their sympathy for the club's disrespectful behavior."
