UNCOVERED: Mbappe met with Lewandowski on May 26 'join me at PSG'

Kylian Mbappe urged Robert Lewandowski to join him at PSG in a meeting this past summer.

Mbappe signed a new deal with the French champions in May, shunning the advances of Real Madrid, and was reported to have asked the club to sign a world class striker to play alongside him in the French capital.

Le Parisien says Mbappe's choice of striker was Lewandowski, who was set to leave Bayern Munich after eight seasons with the German giants.

The French star went as far as to meet with Lewandowski on 26 May in Cannes to try and lure the Poland star to PSG. Mbappe feels he plays best in tandem with a more traditional number nine, and saw Lewandowski as the perfect fit for him and the club.

Ultimately Mbappe's efforts were in vein, as Lewandowski had his heart set on a move to Barcelona and eventually joined the Spanish side in July,
